Sulaimaniyah, Jan. 26 (AKnews) – Iraqi Parliament passed the country's 2010 budget bill by a unanimous vote, the Parliament's media official said Tuesday.
Iraq's 2010 budget makes provision to a cut in the high-ranking officials' salaries by 20%, which will go to the provinces development budget instead.
10% of the medium–ranking officials will also be cut.

BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: Iraq’s oil revenues went up by $300 million during the last month of 2009 to hit $4.499 billion through the sale of 61.3 million barrels at a rate of $73.39 per barrel, the Iraqi oil ministry announced on Saturday.

BASRA / Aswat al-Iraq: There are two big investment opportunities to construct two major gas-driven power plants in Basra, the Basra Investment Commission said in a release on Monday.
“The first plant will have a capacity of 1,250 Mwatt, while the second one will be able to generate 1,350 Mwatts of electricity,” said the release received by Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
